Italian Ice is a feminised Gelato × Forbidden Fruit cross with an indica-leaning profile of approximately 60% indica and 40% sativa. Listed cannabinoid levels are 15–18% THC and 0–1.5% CBD, although actual expression can vary with phenotype, growing environment and harvest timing.

Its aromatic character brings together earthy, pungent and cedar-like notes. Caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene are the prominent listed terpenes, creating a deep, woody profile with a brighter edge. Individual experiences differ, but Italian Ice may feel relaxed, calming and focused at first, with a sleepier quality sometimes emerging later. Growing in Australia

Italian Ice is rated as an intermediate growing project. Its relatively compact flowering period can suit hot, dry regions, temperate areas and cooler districts with shorter warm seasons. Outdoor planting is generally considered during spring, from September to November, once local conditions are suitably stable. Growers should account for regional temperature swings, rainfall, humidity and daylight rather than relying on the calendar alone.

These feminised seeds are intended to produce female plants, though natural variation remains possible. Regular observation, sensible airflow and a clean growing space can help reduce risk from pests and mould. Its pungent aroma may become noticeable as flowers mature, so site selection deserves early consideration.

Indoor

Indoors, Italian Ice may reach up to 150 cm. The listed flowering time is approximately eight to nine weeks, with a potential yield of up to 500 g/m² under well-managed conditions. These figures are reference points rather than assured outcomes.

• Allow enough vertical space for the canopy and lighting clearance.
• Use steady air movement to manage humidity around dense flower sites.
• Support branches if flower weight begins to pull them down.

A balanced canopy can help light reach more flowering sites. Avoid crowding plants, particularly late in bloom, when humidity can become trapped between branches.

Outdoor

Outdoors, plants may grow to around 180 cm and produce up to 650 g per plant in favourable conditions. A sunny, well-ventilated position with drainage is preferable. In hot, dry areas, monitor moisture levels closely; in temperate or cool regions, prioritise sun exposure and shelter from prolonged wet weather.

Because plant size and finish time respond to local conditions, leave adequate spacing and inspect flowers after rain. The shorter flowering window may appeal to growers working around a limited autumn season, although phenotypes can finish at different rates.

Harvest

For Australian outdoor gardens, the usual harvest window falls between March and May. Exact timing depends on spring planting date, latitude, phenotype and seasonal weather. Indoor plants are generally assessed after the listed eight-to-nine-week flowering period.

Use visible plant maturity rather than dates alone when selecting the harvest point. Aroma should become richer and more layered near maturity, highlighting Italian Ice’s earthy, cedar-like and pungent character. Keep harvested flowers in a clean, controlled environment with appropriate airflow, darkness and humidity management to preserve their colour and aroma.
