Cannabis laws in Queensland

Queensland’s starting position
Queensland Government guidance states that possessing, supplying, trafficking, cultivating or producing illegal drugs—including growing cannabis—is prohibited.
Diversion is not legalisation
Eligible people may be directed into assessment, education or treatment instead of the ordinary court pathway. Eligibility and consequences depend on the offence history and circumstances.
Driving rules remain strict
Queensland treats drug driving separately and warns that medicinal cannabis can still engage the road rules. Obtain advice about the product prescribed and current driving law.
